Had an MOT today which failed on a rear coil spring. Fault was fixed and car re-tested all for just over 100 quid.
MISSING CAR PARTS?! - make sure nothing has been removed from your car! We had our vehicle recovered to here following an accident where it sat in their yard for two weeks whilst the insurance assessed and inspected it. Following this we had it dropped off back at our house by their recovery truck, however when it returned we noticed the rear exhaust section was missing! (this was virtually brand new as we had replaced it a week prior to the accident). When we called them a few days after the delivery we were told it never came to them with a rear exhaust - despite there being photos of it on the recovery truck as well as a video where someone even commented on the exhaust pipe. One can only assume an opportunist thought the car was destined for scrap and they could take something of value off the car. Otherwise it could be blatantly obvious on starting the car. A DISCLAIMER TO ADD - this happened about a year and a half ago now and judging by other positive reviews this isn't how JD normally conduct business. I am not putting the onus on the garage, merely stating the fact that the exhaust was missing when the car was returned to us. This is my experience with the garage which has unfortunately tarnished my opinion of them.
Needed a local MOT provider I could trust after moving house and these did a great job. Fast, friendly and did a good job. Give them a shout!
Dealt mainly with Adam and Megan, both very helpful and polite, problem solved and helped find the cheapest, quickest and best solution to a major problem with our car. Provided an alternative whilst our car was off the road, talked through the bill before work started.I have a wife and daughters who drive and all are comfortable popping in if they have problems with their cars and the mechanics are always helpful polite.Happy to do business with them.
From the first contact with Michelle to arrange recovery of my car, I was given an accurate estimate of the timescale for attending, an 'on my way' call with an on time arrival. On arrival I was told a spring had snapped on the offside front of my vehicle. I was told this was something the JD Workshops could fix quickly to have me back on the road. Following this Megan kept me up to date with all costs and when my vehicle would be ready to collect. Highly recommend the whole team of JD's. Recovery, and Workshop.
