Attended a 60th dinner here last week. Allegedly 3* hotel with 4* food. Seriously. The terrine, the lamb and the sticky pudding were superb. Taste. Quality. Presentation. Flavour and not skimpy portions, man size trust me. And, all served to almost seventy guests in a private room. Add to the fact the staff were totally helpful and service orientated, made it fully memorable occasion . If you are considering a venue for almost any function/wedding/party/special occasion this place is a must to consider. Cheers, Tony Perrin.
Pleasant stay over two nights. The public areas are nicely decorated and appear to be recently refurbished. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is well located for the town and railway station.The bedrooms were again clean with decent towels in the bathroom. Decor and fittings are dated, but everything worked ok. The flow from the shower was very inconsistent and the non-slip mat really should be replaced as it is pretty mouldy.
Beautiful hotel. We were there for afternoon tea following a funeral. The place and atmosphere was very nice. We returned for lunch the next day and food was lovely.
The staff were very friendly and helpful especially when asked.Rooms are tired, especially carpet, as are the towels and the mattress protector was stained.Shampoo and body wash were provided but no conditioner or body lotion.Breakfast was good but items not replaced when empty.
