We loved this delightful place . Cosy & very comfortable. A short walk from the town centre & interesting places. The hosts were delightful and friendly - very helpful, nothing a problem. We highly definitely recommend this place and hope to stay here again .

I was so glad I came to stay with Joan and Jack. Joan is a lovely friendly hostess, makes great breakfasts and is very happy to give information and recommendations for the local area. She is clearly known and respected by many people in this friendly town, because wherever I went people spoke highly of her. The room I stayed in (the garden suite) was quiet, clean and airy with a huge bed! Just what I need as I'm 6'6" tall. The bathroom was lush. I was warned that there was a limit on hot water, but I never ran out.

What a fantastic B&B. Joan and Jack were so welcoming, it was like go back to your parents house for the night. I only had the single room but my god was that the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great night stay.

Lovely home from home. Great hosts. Comfy rooms. Attention to detail.

I was made very welcome by both the owners and by the other guests, meeting everyone in the small but very attractive garden.I had the single ground floor room, straight off the TV lounge, but since I was the only person who watched TV that was no bother. The room is a bit dark, because of the church conversion and the alignment of the windows, but that did not detract from the comfort - it was very welcome in the hot weather. Good bed, small but perfectly practical toilet and shower, wonderful large towels and attractive furnishings. There are larger rooms and a garden suite, all fully booked. I know why. The house is in a quiet corner of town, the parking is off-road, the comfort and welcome second to none. I felt more like a friend being put up for the night than a paying guest.I followed the advice for eating nearby, and enjoyed it very much. The breakfast was cooked with care and using the finest ingredients, and was taken en-famile at a single large table, guests coming and going as convenient.Internet access is provided, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. There are several hotels in Alton: some are pretentious and overpriced, others are cheap rooms above pubs. St Marys Hall is preferable to any of them. Like being wrapped in a warm shawl after coming in from a cold day on the hills.
