I bought the A1R2 in Sept 2016. Simon was really helpful when it came to the spec of the bike based on what I needed it for. I was recovering from back surgery so we spent time getting the set up right as well. I opted for a ceramic bottom bracket, Handsling carbon wheels and Utegra Di2.I have ridden it hard around Kent lanes, Majorca, the Alps and across the Pyrenees (1000km coast to coast) and it has been awesome. Very stiff, comfortable and light. More recently I went back to Handsling and have also bought the CXEvo gravel bike. Again, ceramic bottom bracket, Handsling carbon wheels (tubeless this time) and Di2. I'm going to use this as a winter training bike and occasional cross bike. I had a couple of teething issues getting the hydraulic brakes set up to my exact requirements and Simon has been really helpful and responsive. He knows the product inside out and you get a bespoke service from someone who is genuinely interested in getting you a product which is just for you.Highly recommend it.
Ive had a couple of pairs of road and cyclo-cross wheels, and now a complete cyclo-cross bike from Handsling. Very happy with all of these. Expect Simon to show a keen interest in you and your riding plans, as thats all part of ensuring that you get the right kit. Ive raced both sets of wheels in Masters National Championships for example. Just ordered one of the new Handsling A1R0evo bikes, after taking one for an extended road test. Simon then used the dimensions from my recent bike fit to ensure that Im getting the right sized frame, cranks, saddle and so on. Its this attention to detail and flexibility that really mark out Handsling.
